about our Ceo
Anthony W. James, Jr.
On my journey after being released from prison I realized there was an epidemic of homelessness in Los Angeles County. I could see the homeless population doubled from previously being in the same situation with no where to find shelter. My life became being dependent upon others kindness to open their homes for me to have a temporary place to stay. Through my journey I found myself sleeping in cars and outside in public areas just to be able to get by. Amongst the homeless society I realized a vast majority of men and women had been left with no place to call home after being released from prison. I as a single father to a beautiful young daughter knew that I could not continue on this path and needed to get stability for my child and myself. While being locked away communication with the outside world was very limited, leaving me with little to no resources. This caused me to be a vagrant amongst all of the others left with no place to reside. Once I was able to stand on my own two feet I knew had to make a change for the better for the homeless population.
I established a program Quik Housing Development to assist with providing shelter as well as basic life skills to obtain stability. When creating this program I set a schedule for all participants to be able to learn skilled based knowledge as well as putting in applications daily. The wait to get into homeless shelters and half-way house came with a six to twelve month wait list. With that being said this program I created was to help those in need right away. As we continue to grow all we work vigorously to enhance interpersonal skills as well as stability with housing and staying sober. I have done well for myself and would like to continue to bless those in need.
